Bala confirmed as venue for Senior Super Series Grand Final

11/06/2025

With mountainous scenery offering stunning views, the beautiful Triathlon y Bala will provide a suitably dramatic setting for the season finale.

The Rawson Group Triathlon y Bala has been confirmed as the venue for the Grand Final of this year’s Senior Super Series. The race in Bala in Wales, will complete the 2025 series, which will see athletes compete in Llanelli, Mallory Park, Bristol and at Eton Dorney and will act as trials for the World Under 23 Triathlon Championships in Wollongong.

Taking place on 7 September, the cream of British pathway talent will take part in a standard distance triathlon, that begins with a water start in the famous Llyn Tegid, with Aran Fawddwy providing a dramatic backdrop, before progressing onto the stunning bike and run course. Despite the mountainous surroundings, the bike route is fast and flat, with the route running along the western shore of the lake, through the southern lowlands of Eryri, before looping back to Bala on completely closed roads.

Dan Salcedo, Performance Pathway Manager at British Triathlon said:
“It’s important to be able to offer a wide range of venues and experiences to our pathway athletes, so it’s great to be back once again at such an iconic venue as Bala for the Grand Final. As the only event longer than a sprint distance in the Super Series, it’s fantastic to be able to offer this great developmental opportunity for athletes who don’t often get to race over this distance. With selection at the World U23 Championships up for grabs, racing is sure to be fast and furious, and the stage is set for an exciting finish to the 2025 Super Series.”

Rhys Pilley, Event Director for the Rawson Group Triathlon Y Bala added:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be hosting the British Triathlon Super Series Grand Final at this year’s Rawson Group Triathlon Y Bala. This event has been a staple on the triathlon calendar for many years, and the course here is ideally suited for a race of this scale. We can’t wait to welcome athletes and spectators alike to this stunning part of the world.”
