Paratri Super Series Heads to Eton Dorney

It was round three of the Paratri Super Series on Saturday at Eton Dorney, which also doubled up as the British Paratriathlon Championships. Athletes competed over a 750m swim, a 20km bike ride, with a 5km run to finish.

Women’s Races

In the women’s events, Alison Short took home the win in the PTS3 category, while Hannah Moore won gold in the PTS4. The final women’s winner of the day was Sophie West who won in the PTS5 race.

Men’s Races

In the men’s events, Olympic champion Dave Ellis was the class of the field as he and guide Luke Pollard took home the gold medal, finishing over 15 minutes ahead of their closest rivals. Harry Hughes – guided by Ben Brooks – came in second, ahead of Josh Matten.

Chris Arthey took home the win in the PTS2 category, while in the PTS3 category, Ethan Dent won gold, coming in just over three minutes ahead of Gavin McClaughlin in third.

In the PTS4 race, Josh Garrett won the gold medal, six minutes ahead of Chris Jones who picked up the silver medal. Alexander Moran rounded out the podium, taking home the bronze.

In the PTS5 category, Tom Barnard won gold, coming home three minutes ahead of closest rival Florian Combe. Danny Simpson came away with the bronze medal.

Speaking after the race, Dave Ellis was asked what it was like to be back racing at Eton Dorney

“It’s nice to be back at Eton, I think it’s a really good race to support every year and it’s great to be back here.”

The Super Series moves on next to Mallory Park on 13-14 September, with the Grand Final taking place at Oulton Park on 19 October.
