Super Series 2025 Continues in Llanelli

12/05/2025

The second round of the 2025 Super Series took place on Saturday as Senior, Youth and Paratri athletes all competed over the Sprint distance and the Youth categories raced over the Super Sprint distance.

We’ll take a look at the athletes who filled the podium places at the weekend.

Senior

After finishing 4th in the recent Supertri E World Triathlon Championships in London, Jessica Fullagar continued her fine early season form by taking the win in the Senior Female category.  Despite coming out of the water in 4th place, Jessica did the damage on the bike with the fastest bike leg of the race, before coming home just over a minute clear of second place. Fellow World Class Programme athlete Tilly Anema took home the silver and rounding out the top three was Eve Whitaker.

In the Open Senior category, Michael Gar took the honours. He was third out of the water, just a couple of seconds behind the leader before consolidating his position at the front of the race with a solid bike ride, the second fastest of the day. Oliver Conway had the fastest run leg of the day, coming in with a time of 14.56, but that wasn’t quite enough to overhaul Michael who finished ahead by just under 15 seconds to pick up the win. Oliver picked up silver with Marcus Dey rounding out the podium in third place.

Junior

In the Junior Female category, Helena Coy took home first place in a close fought race with Lauren Mitchell who came in second. Helena was 30 seconds down coming out of the water, but a strong ride and an impressive run saw her work her way through the field to take the win. Siena Stephens picked up the bronze medal.

In the Open Junior category, Brandon Pye took the win and was at the front of the race throughout. He was quickest in the swim and while he dropped back a bit on the bike leg, he came storming through on the run, clocking a very impressive 15.08 to cross the line first. Luke Holmes finished second, just under a minute behind the winner, with Jack Llewellyn coming home third.

Youth B

The fastest bike and run legs were good enough for Isabel Moore to take the win in the Youth B Female category in a time of 37:36 in the super sprint race. She finished just over ten seconds ahead of near namesake silver medallist Isabella Waugh, who was right beside Isabelle as they came out of T” but fell back slightly on the run course. Holly Humphreys was 30 seconds back as she picked up a strong bronze medal.

Lucas Gorrill took home the prize in a close fought battle with the top three covered by just under ten seconds. The second fastest bike and run legs were enough to give Lucas the win, coming home just five seconds ahead of second place finisher Finlay Goodman. Israel Noble completed a very tight top three, coming home in bronze less than five seconds behind Finlay.

Youth A

In the youngest age category racing at the event, Ellie Birchall came home in first place, ahead of Sophie Maxwell in second and Emma Graham Brown in third. Ellie was third out of the water and was super consistent across both the bike and run to take home the win. Strong all round performances again saw Sophie take silver, just five seconds ahead of Emma in third.

The fastest bike leg in the category was the catalyst to Ewan Sparey winning the Open Youth A category, finishing 45 seconds ahead of Oliver Darcy in second. Stanley Phillips who had come out of the water in seventh place also had a strong bike leg as he rounded out the podium in third.

Paratri

In the final event of the day, the Paratri athletes took to the start line.

Paralympic champion Dave Hill and his guide led the way home in the Open PTVI category, finishing comfortable ahead of Nathaniel Costigan who came in second with Robert Sears coming home in third. Gemma Patterson took home the win in the Female PTVI race.

Ethan Dent won the Open PTS3 event with Alison Short winning the Female PTS3 event.

In the Open PTS4 category, Finlay James came away with the gold medal, finishing ahead of Josh Garrett who took home the silver.

Oliver Scott was the winner of the Open PTS5 category, with Florien Combe picking up the silver.

Finally, James Bilham was the winner of the Open PTWC category in a time of 1.34.

Full results and updated rankings will be available here when published later in the week.
