A number of top GB triathletes will be in action as the second round of the Super Series takes place in Llanelli.
The Super Series celebrates its tenth year in Llanelli, with athletes from the youth, junior, senior and paratri categories all in action on Saturday May 10. With youth athletes competing over a super sprint distance and everyone else taking part in a sprint, the racing promises to be fast and furious with a number of the UK’s top triathletes taking part in the event.
The event in Llanelli takes place at the North Dock in the Millennium Coastal Park, with superb views for spectators across the swimming and transition areas.
Heading the list will be Paralympic champion Dave Ellis, fresh from picking up his MBE at Windsor Castle earlier in the year. Dave had a stellar 2024, winning the triple crown of European, World and Paralympic titles and this weekend will be a fantastic opportunity to see one of the sport’s biggest stars in action on home soil.
Three medal winning athletes from the recent Europe Triathlon Cup weekend will also be competing in Wales. Tilly Anema won gold in Portugal, the first individual win of her international career, and will be looking for a strong performance back in the UK before no doubt competing on the world stage later in the season. She is joined by Oliver Conway who claimed his first senior international podium, taking home the silver medal. The third medallist from Portugal lining up in Llanelli will be Brandon Pye who won gold in the Junior Cup.
Joining the start list in the women’s race will be World Class Programme athlete Jess Fullagar. Jess is joining fresh from the Supertri E World Triathlon Championships in London, where she finished just off the podium in 4th place. Also competing at the recent Supertri E event was 2024 Super Series champion Issy Hayes who is back in the Super Series for 2025 and is looking to retain her crown.
Also joining the cream of British talent will be Matthew Wright, who represented Barbados at the Olympics in Paris last summer, finishing in 34th place.
More than 300 athletes will be taking part in the Super Series event with races starting at 11am. The final event of the day will be the paratri race which starts at 5pm.
