Double Super Series action in Eton and Bristol

15/07/2026

It was a busy Super Series weekend with the para-athletes competing at Eton Dorney in an event that doubled up as the British Paratriathlon Championships, while on the Sunday, the Senior and Junior athletes raced in Bristol.

Eton Dorney

Open Results

In the PTWC category, James Bilham continued his dominant form from the rest of the series, to win his fourth consecutive race of the season. He was followed home closely by Mark Godman-Sinclair who took silver, with James Hall-Jones coming home in the bronze medal position.

In the PTVI category, Oliver Gunning took the win in his first Super Series race of the season. He finished ahead of Jake Bailey in second with Nathaniel Costigan coming home in third place. The result moves Nathaniel up to second in the overall standings, just one place behind Harry Hughes who wasn’t racing this weekend.

Chris Arthey took the win in the PTS2 category, a result that moves him to the top of the overall rankings in his first event of the season.

In one of the closest fought categories in the Super Series this year, Joshua Pullen took the win ahead of close rival Ethan Dent in the PTS3 category. The win leaves Joshua four points ahead of Ethan going into the Grand Final in August.

In the PTS4 category it was Michael Taylor who took the win, coming home around eight minutes ahead of Josh Garrett in second place. Josh’s second place was enough to keep him on top of the overall standings.

Finally in the PTS5 category, Tom Barnard took the win in his first race of the season, finishing ahead of Malcolm Smith in second place, with Matthew Davies coming home in the bronze medal position. Danny Simpson finished in fourth place and retains his position at the top of the overall standings.

Female Results

World Class Programme athlete Rachael Elliott was the class of the field in the PTVI category to win by over ten minutes from Sophie Green in second. Sophie’s consistency over the season though means she maintains an unbeatable lead at the top of the overall standings.

Emma Warner took the win in the PTS2 category as did Hattie Woodhouse in the PTS3 category. Both results mean they stay at the top of their respective rankings for the year.

In the final category, Sophie West was the class of the field as she took the win in the PTS5 category, ahead of Alison Short in second who finished just ahead of Debbie Watt in third. Debbie retains her overall lead in the rankings.

Bristol

The next day it was the turn of the Senior and Junior athletes to race down in Bristol. This was the second year the Super Series had visited the city with the race based in and around the harbour area. The sprint distance event also served as a qualifier for the European Junior Championships.

Senior Races

In the female race, it was defending Super Series champion Mille Breese who took the win, the fastest run split of the day enabling her to finish twelve seconds ahead of Emma Graham-Brown in second with Kitty Scott in third. Both Emma and Kitty currently race in the Youth categories, so in terms of the Senior points scoring, Abigail Baines came second with Katie Mathison third.

In the open race, Hamish Reilly took the win, just pulling away on the run from Benjamin Cumberland who finished in second. Lucas Gorrill was third across the line, but as he competes in the Junior category – which of course he won – the final podium scoring place in the race went to Harry Maxwell.

In terms of overall rankings, Eve Whitaker and Bethany Cook are joint leaders in the female series, just ahead of Millie Breese, while in the Open category Benjamin Cumberland leads Hamish Reilly by just under 100 points with Daniel Van Aardt in third.

Junior Races

Lauren Mitchell was the first Female Junior athlete across the line, taking maximum points in the category. She finished around 30 seconds ahead of Hollie Lewis who came in second, with Holly Humphreys close behind in third.

In the Open race, as already mentioned it was Lucas Gorrill who took the win, finishing less than ten seconds ahead of Reuben Wadey in second, with Alex Dack in third.

In terms of the overall rankings, Hollie Lewis remains on top, just ahead of Lauren Mitchell, with Darcy Gladwell in third. In the open category, it’s a repeat of the top three from Bristol. Lucas Gorrill has a commanding lead ahead of Reuben Wadey, with Alex Dack in third. With bonus points on offer at the Grand Final at the end of August, there’s all to play for still.
