Inter Regional Championships Results

The 2026 Inter Regional Championships (IRCs) took place at the British Triathlon Super Series Grand Final at Mallory Park on 29 & 30 August. Athletes competed in both Individual races and the Mixed Team Relay format over the two days of competition. Competitors had to deal with a mix of weather conditions, with heavy rain on Saturday and sunshine on Sunday.

The Inter Regional Championships are a once yearly event held as part of the British Triathlon Super Series Grand Final. They are an opportunity for some of the best girls and boys across both the TriStar 2 and 3 age groups in each of the ten English Regions, Scotland, Wales, and Jersey to race against each other.

Each team consists of 16 athletes and points are collected across the weekend in the individual racing, transition challenge, and mixed team relay. The team with the highest number of points at the end of the weekend are crowned the British Inter Regional Champions.

Due to the presence of blue-green algae in the lake, races were switched to a duathlon format with heats and finals over the following distances

• TriStar 2: 600m run, 2.9km bike, 800m run
• TriStar 3: 870m run, 2.9km bike, 800m run

In the mixed team relay event, the winners were Team South East A, ahead of Team North West A, with Team East Midlands A just a second behind in third.

After all the individual racing, transition challenge, and mixed team relay results were added together, the South East team were declared the overall British Inter Regional Champions! Full results are below:
