Super Series Youth, Junior and Paratri Grand Final 2026 Results
After the hottest summer on record, unfortunately it was rain and heavy clouds that welcomed athletes to the Super Series Grand Final at Mallory Park in Leicestershire over the weekend. Athletes from the Youth and Junior categories were competing for their titles on the Saturday, while the Paratri athletes took centre stage on Sunday.
Unfortunately the levels of blue-green algae in the lake were too high to allow for swimming, so all races over the two days became duathlons, with an extra run added to the start of the races. This meant that points were awarded at 75% of the value they would normally have been given for a Grand Final.
Saturday Racing
Youth A Female
It was a close run thing between Sophie Richmond and Ellie Birchall as the female race came down to the final lap of the second run, but it was Sophie who prevailed, taking the win by just over two seconds from Ellie to claim the title of British Elite Champion in the Youth category for 2026. Emilia Waugh was a further 15 seconds back in third place to pick up the bronze medal on the day.
Overall this means that despite not racing in the category on Saturday, Kitty Scott was crowned Super Series champion for 2026, with Ellie’s second place on the day lifting her to second overall, with Summer Smith picking up third place.
Youth A Open
In the open category, Leo Blyton took the win in another close fought race, just edging out Luke Davison by a couple of seconds on the final run. There were guest teams from France competing over the weekend, and French athletes took the next four places, with Quentin Monnier-Benoit picking up the bronze medal in the race, while Ben Picton picked up the third place in the Super Series as the third placed British athlete.
Overall it was Ollie Squire who took the Super Series title, with three wins in previous races good enough to take the title ahead of Macsen Watts in second, with Tymek Chmielowski in third.
Youth B, Junior and Senior racing
Youth B, Junior and Senior athletes all competed in the same race, with results awarded for the first person across the line in each category.
Youth B Female
Molly Smithers was the first female Youth B athlete across the line, finishing just over two minutes ahead of Indi Franklin in second place, with Sophie Mitchell a further 90 seconds back in third place.
Despite not racing at Mallory Park, three wins from three earlier in the season was good enough for Emma Graham-Brown to take the overall Super Series crown, with Molly Smithers moving up to second and Sophie Mitchell taking third place.
Youth B Open
Tom Mythen took the win in the Open Youth B category, finishing over a minute ahead of Benjamin Wilmot who came home in second place, with Jacob Palmer picking up the bronze medal. It was an impressive performance from Tom, as he finished inside the top ten in the overall race, ahead of a number of Senior and Junior athletes.
Tom’s win ensured he remained at the top of the standings to be crowned Super Series champion for 2026. His victory made it a clean sweep of four out of four wins this year. Ben Allen finished second, with Jamie Lonergan in third.
Junior Female
Jessica IK Taylor took the win in the junior category, with a strong final run leg of 18:13 enabling her to open up a gap of just under 15 seconds back to Kitty Scott in second. Lauren Mitchell came home in third place, just under ten seconds behind Kitty.
Hollie Lewis took the overall Super Series crown, strong performances throughout the season saw her take the win ahead of Lauren Mitchell in second, with Darcy Gladwell in third.
Senior Female
The senior race was the final chance for athletes to win points ahead of the Grand Final in Bala on 6 September. Eleanor Wallace took her first win of the season, finishing well ahead of Sam McInnes in second place with Isabelle Franco finishing in third place. With most of the names at the top of the rankings absent from Mallory Park, there is all to play for at the final race of the season.
Senior Open
It was a tight finish in the open category as Daniel van Aardt took the win by just two seconds from Deri McCluskey. As in so many races over the weekend, it all came down to the final run, with Daniel’s 15:02 5km time proving good enough for the win. Jack Stanton Stock was just a few seconds further back in third position.
In terms of the rankings Daniel van Aardt’s win sees him sit at the top, ahead of Hamish Reilly in second who didn’t race at Mallory Park and Mack Downey who is sitting in third.
Sunday Racing
The Paratri athletes took centre stage on Sunday morning when the weather thankfully was much brighter and athletes competed under blue skies.
Open Categories
There was a turn up in the PTVI category as Harry Hughes won the race on the day, pipping Olympic and World Champion Dave Ellis by less than four seconds in an incredible finish. Dave and guide Luke Pollard had been delayed by a puncture in transition, and despite a fast run, weren’t quite capable of overturning the deficit. Nathaniel Costigan finished in third position. Harry’s win means that his consistency over the season led to him being crowned Super Series champion for 2026.
World Class programme athlete Josh Landmann took the win in the PTWC category, coming home ahead of Super Series regular James Bilham, whose performances across the season saw him crowned overall champion for 2026.
In the PTS2 category, Isaac Fawell took the win on the day and his second win of the season saw him crowned overall champion for the year.
Henry Urand was the class of the field in the PTS3 category, the world champion finishing over five minutes clear of his nearest competitor. Joshua Pullen’s second place and performances throughout the year were enough for him to take the overall title, while Ethan Dent came home in third place on the day.
Josh Garrett took the win in the PTS4 category, his win giving him maximum points for the season and seeing him take the overall Super Series title. Finley Jakes came second on his return to the Super Series while James McCarthy came in close behind in third on his debut in the series.
In the final Open category, British Academy athlete Ollie Scott took the win in the PTS5 category, finishing around four minutes ahead of his nearest rival Malcolm Smith. With Danny Simpson coming home in third. Ollie’s win sees him take the Super Series title and defend his crown from 2025.
Female Categories
Sophie Green took the win in the PTVI category as well as the overall 2026 Super Series title. She competed in all races this year, winning four out of five.
Emma Warner was the winner of the PTS2 category and also took the win overall for the year as did Hattie Woodhouse in the PTS3 category. Both athletes were the only competitors in their category on the weekend.
Making it three wins out of three wins for the year, Sophie West finished over four minutes ahead of Verity Toplis in second, with Debbie Watt in third in the PTS5 category. Sophie’s third win ensured she finished the season as Super Series champion, just three points ahead of Debbie.
PARATRI RESULTS PARATRI RANKINGS
Youth and Junior Mixed Team Relay
It was an exciting finish in the Youth and Junior Mixed Team Relay, as the South West Team A consisting of Reuben Wadey, Niclas Olley, Sophie Maxwell and Ellie Birchall pipped Team South East A by just five seconds after nearly an hour of close racing. Finlay Goodman, Tom Mythen, Lauren Mitchell and Molly Smithers represented Team South East A. The East Midlands B team of Rebecca Van Aardt, Sam Blackwell, Jack Llewellyn and Amelie Crabb picked up the bronze medal, beating the East Midlands A team into fourth.
Inter Regional Championships
Running in parallel with the Super Series, the Inter Regional Championships for Tristar 2 and Tristar 3 athletes took place with individual racing, mixed relay and a transition challenge all included. We’ll have full details of this in a separate report coming soon.
