For the first time in 2026, Senior, Junior, Youth and Paratri athletes were all in one venue for a Super Series race. Llanelli was the venue for a huge day of racing with around 300 athletes taking part across all the categories.
Despite worries about the water temperature in advance and a big storm in the afternoon, none of the events were affected and there was fast and furious racing throughout the day.
The Llanelli leg of the Super Series was designated as the British Elite Championships for 2026 so there was even more on the line than usual for the Senior athletes.
In the women’s race, the fastest run leg of the day helped Bethany Cook take the win, finishing just under ten seconds ahead of Eve Whitaker. Last year’s overall Super Series champion Millie Breese finished in third place as she looks to retain her overall title in 2026.
In the open race, Michael Gar defended his crown from last year, retaining the British Elite Championship, easing away on the run to finish ahead of Benjamin Cumberland who came home in second place. Alex Robin rounded out the podium, finishing just three seconds behind in third

In a closely fought race in the female junior category, the top three were separated by less than ten seconds. Hollie Lewis from Wales came home in first place, a strong run leaving her six seconds clear of Lauren Mitchell in second, who finished just ahead of Amelie Crabb who was representing the Midlands.
