Super Series 2026 Grand Final Preview
The weekend of 29 and 30 August sees the Grand Finals taking place for the youth, junior and paratri categories at Mallory Park.
The Super Series champions for 2026 will be crowned in the youth, junior and paratri categories while it is also the penultimate race in the senior category, before their Grand Final the following week in Bala.
With extra points on offer at the Grand Final, there is plenty to play for as the Super Series comes to an end for youth, junior and paratri athletes for another year. As well as the Super Series, the race doubles up as the British Elite Triathlon Championships with the first athlete across the line in each race crowned British Elite Champion. And if that’s not enough, the race also serves as a qualifier for the World Junior Championships taking place in Pontevedra next month.
We’ll be going through each category and highlighting how the rankings stand and which athletes to keep an eye out for as we head into the Grand Final.
Youth A Female
With Kitty Scott entered in the Junior category for this weekend with a view to qualifying for the junior World Championships, the door is open for the athletes in second, third, fourth and fifth place to take the crown on the final weekend. Any one of Ellie Birchall, Summer Smith, Emilia Waugh or Sophie Richmond can be crowned Super Series champion if they win the race.
Youth A Open
There are three athletes who can become Super Series champion, with Ollie Squire, Tymek Chmoelski and Ross Allan all in with a chance of taking the crown.
Ollie leads the way, with a perfect score of 5000 and just needs a podium finish in order to win the Series. If Ollie finishes fourth or lower, then the door is open for Tymek and Ross to take the title, but they will need to win the race in order to do this.
Youth B Female
Emma Graham-Brown cannot be caught at the top of the rankings and will be crowned Super Series champion if she finishes in either first or second place. If she finishes outsider the top two however, Molly Smithers has the opportunity to take the overall crown if she wins the race at Mallory Park.
Youth B Open
Three athletes are in the mix to take the Youth B Open title with Tom Mythen, Jamie Lonergan and Ben Allen all in with a chance. Tom is the clear favourite having won three out of three races so far this year and only needs to finish first or second to win. If Tom finishes outside the top two, then a win for either Jamie or Ben would see them crowned as champion.
Junior Female
Hollie Lewis, Lauren Mitchell and Darcy Gladwell all stand a chance of winning the title, although Hollie is the favourite going into the Grand Final. If Hollie wins on the day then she will become champion, however Lauren can take the title if she wins or comes second and Hollie does not finish. Darcy has an outside chance of taking the title if she wins and Hollie and Lauren come below fifth.
Junior Open
Lucas Gorrill is currently sitting on 7500 points and is the clear favourite in the Junior Open category and will be crowned overall champion if he finishes on the podium. His closest challenger is Reuben Wadey who will take the title if he wins the race and Lucas finishes fourth or lower.
Paratri
There are some big names appearing at Mallory Park this year, as well as exciting finishes in prospect in a number of the categories.
Paralympic and seven time World champion Dave Ellis will be racing in the PTVI category, as will two time World Champion Henry Urand in the PTS3 category. The final member of the world class programme racing is wheelchair athlete Josh Landman who had a third place finish last month at the World Triathlon Para Series (WTPS) race in Montreal.
Alongside the athletes above, there will be strong representation from athletes in the British Academy including Ollie Scott who made his debut in WTPS racing this year as well as athletes in the England Paratriathlon Academy and the England Foundation Programme.
What else is happening?
As well as the racing above, the Inter Regional Championships for Tristar 2 and Tristar 3 athletes will be taking place on the Saturday and Sunday, with only the best from each region selected to compete. On the Sunday, there is also mixed team relay action taking place alongside the paratri races.
